TRK 'virusscan' AV engine locations updated
Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Yesterday I did a checkup on TRK and found out a few virusscan antivirus-engine links had broken or were at newer versions.
As TRK 'virusscan' users may know, 'virusscan' is a wrapper script that fetches external AV engines from the internet and uses a pointer where to find them from a url which it gets on a secure connection to
Here 's the status of the 5 AV engines integrated in TRK 'virusscan':

-ClamAV: updated from 0.97.1 to 0.97.2. Update will happen automatically when you fire up 'virusscan'
-BitDefender: still the same engine, but their download location had changed. Works again.
-Vexira: updated program and download location is updated, but syntax seems to have changed for update program. So unless you manually update it once installed, it's pretty useless until I bring out a new version of TRK (or instructions on how to modify your TRK)
-F-prot: unchanged, still working
-Avast: unchanged, still working

Furthermore, I started some work on integrating Linux 3.0.x into TRK, but the aufs patch is giving me headaches, so I have to wait for a stable version from the Aufs people.

That 's all I 'll have time for. Very busy, sorry folks.

The sooner we can receive a ways to update, the better.

Appearantly the F-Prot makers have changed something: downloading F-Prot doesn't work...

Is the F-Prot link broken? It doesn't seem to work from my side.

ClamAV works OK

None of the free virus engines work (ok, i didnt check clam, since it is useless as it never finds anything relevant) at the moment!

fprot: 404 error on download, link isnt working
bde: is needed by bitdefender scanner 7.6.4
va: updating doesnt work, complete howto for workaround would be nice

TRK has always been my favourite virus check livecd, since it is comfortable and uncomplicated, but atm not a single free engine works! Please issue a small update just for the virusscanning stuff.

EDIT: Ok, avast works and their registration is free.

I love mushrooms and and you can post mushroom recipes all year, and I would be thrilled. :-)Your stroganoff looks rich and creamy. I know it's Cooking Light so, I can eat as much as I want! I love stroganoff. Especially the white kind. Have never much cared for the red kind, aghtoulh a lot of people say it's the original recipe. This dish is perfect for a lovely vegetarian dinner, Teresa! I'll be sure to buy enough mushrooms when I try this.
